Kurt has been the top selling Afrikaans artist for the past 3 years, and finished in 2009 as the No 1 selling artist, where sales included international artist sales as well. Kurt has recently launched his brand new CD "Beste Medisyne" and the CD broke the Platinum threshold before it was available in stores.
He is also no stranger to the English market, with his single "Standing on the Edge" holding the No 1 spot in SA charts for several weeks. in 2009, he has also launched his first English album since 1999, "Smiling back at me", which also achieved platinum status.
Kurt once again headlined the most famous concert in South Africa, the Huisgenoot Skouspel, in 2009. His performance included a medley of all his No 1 singles, including "Loslappie", "Staan op", "Hemel of Tafelberg" and "Voorwaarts Mars". His recent hit, "Kaptein", was officially the Grand Finale for the show with all 39 artists at the show joining Kurt on stage to perform the No 1 hit.

Kurt Darren will perform in his first solo concert in London at AFRIKHAKI. Kurt's only other performance in London was at Nelson Mandela's 90th Birthday in Hyde Park during the summer of 2008, where he performed a duet with Eddy Grant and shared the stage with other international stars such as Amy Winehouse, Josh Groban, Queen and Leona Lewis.
